Gridling

A home energy app that shows when power is cheap and clean. I designed it and built the SwiftUI prototype used in testing.

Result

Households moved 18% of their use to cheap hours

The brief

Gridling helps households in Frederiksberg use power when it is cheap and clean. Early users found the app full of numbers they did not know how to act on.

What I built

A today screen with two rings, one for the grid and one for solar, and a bar chart of the cheapest hours. Devices like the heat pump can be told to run when prices drop.

I built the prototype in SwiftUI and Swift Charts, so every test ran on a real phone.

What changed

In the pilot, households moved 18% of their use into cheap hours and saved around kr 214 a month on average.

Screens

Three screens from the shipped product, at the size they sit on this page.
